Finding of the first Diary Remix (With artwork from TDOD)

29 Oct

Light barely broke the darkness as I lay surrounded by falling, crumbling, rocks. The hot breath of a dragon, in the form of an awaking volcano, rumbling me back to thought, after my unexpected escape from consciousness. The rays of Sunlight almost taunting, dancing freely into and out of what was my impending tomb…

My lungs drawing in hot, short, burst of air, trying their hardest to take in the last bit of remaining freshness still left around me. The ringing in my ears left little room for the horrid sounds coming from above my soon to be grave, as thoughts of family and friends raced through my mind, making sure to grasp the ones that have always meant the most. Darkness fell, I was truly alone, until a glow met my eyes…

It’s faint yellowish light entranced my vision, almost to the point of hypnotizing it. A feeling of hope washed over me, as a sense of calm cured me from within my very soul. The obvious concern that plagued me at that very moment seem to vanish, as this heavenly glow continued to light the darkness, as if not to leave me completely alone…

Unfortunately, even the softly seen guardian angel couldn’t prevent the huge explosion that followed my tranquil excursion into peace. An eruption so loud that my hearing disintegrated. My eyes already to the point of bleeding from the hot ash finding its way in, felt as if they were about to melt and flow freely, like the lava I was so sure must lie just moments away from cooking me alive…

Even if I had been screaming in pain, I wasn’t able to hear it. The crackling earth that rose above me could care less about compassion. The pressures within its mountainous cone had been building I’m sure for thousands of years, and it certainly didn’t care if some small, insignificant, human being lay in peril at its base. As the sounds grew to monstrous heights, my lack of hearing could do little to reduce my frightened nature. The overwhelming situation that I had purposely placed myself in had now become too much, my body and mind gave out, and within moments I found myself drifting away into a confusing, yet, peaceful dream…

I could hear screaming, my eyes darted open. My senses were greeted by the overwhelming scent of death and paint, which seemed like a very strange combination. Making it to my feet was made increasingly difficult, an effect caused by some sort of multi-colored mud that I now found myself laying in. Finally standing, I had to take in a darkened landscape, who’s helpful light was blotted out by a twilight like haze covering its sky. Ankle deep, everything I could make out around me appeared to have melted, and flowed through this place like a river. Its thick yet sweet-smelling multi-colored mud upon closer inspection was in fact…paint.

“What is this?” I repeatedly said to myself,  holding my hand in front of my face, squishing the pigment between my fingers.

I could now tell for certain that this place in which I stand, was made entirely out of paint. A brilliant flash sparked off on the horizon behind a horribly melted looking hill, another strike followed that one. The first red, and the second orange. The hypnotic lightning would continue all around me in succession, until it finally delivered the spectrum of  colors in a rainbow…

Not bad, if I do say so myself. I can’t wait for the first book to come out. I love fantasy books, anything that takes me away from this world is a definite must read and this is definitely one of those.
